A visit to Douneside House means that you will be able to indulge in a truly memorable culinary experience. Douneside House is the North East's only AA three rosette restaurant and was recently awarded "Hotel Restaurant of the Year 2020" by the Scottish Hotel Awards.
Douneside House has created a range of creative, seasonal menus.
Our award winning, six course tasting menu, which is served Thursday to Saturday evenings, is available in our intimate, candle-lit Library. Our experienced Sommelier specially selects each evening's wine flight, which can accompany the tasting menu.
Our Conservatory restaurant, with its beautiful views of the terrace garden, serves lunch, afternoon tea and our table d'hôte dinner menu, 7 days per week. A special Sunday lunch menu, also includes a roast of the day.
All menus focus on featuring the freshest local produce, with fruit and vegetables picked daily from the Douneside garden. Our garden produces over 80 varieties of organically grown fruit and vegetables, making it one of Scotland's largest hotel kitchen gardens. Meat is purchased from prestigious Aberdeenshire based, Royal Warrant butcher HM Sheridan, while blue flag fish comes fresh from the neighbouring fishing town of Peterhead every morning.
We pride ourselves on offering our guests a highly personalised stay, and we would be delighted to accommodate any culinary preferences or dietary requests you may have.
Douneside House offers is located in majestic Royal Deeside, within the grounds of the MacRobert Estate in Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Highlands.
Surrounded by rolling countryside; guests can relax in 17 acres of beautifully tended gardens - one of Scotland's only hotel gardens to be accredited by the Royal Horticulture Society. The hotel is a great base from which to explore some of Scotland's finest sporting and leisure pursuits with incomparable touring, walking, climbing and fishing opportunities - all can be reached direct from our gardens.
