About The Pastry Academy

Located in the heart of Royal Deeside, a short 20-minute drive from Aberdeen City and a 29-minute drive from Aberdeen Airport. Top international pastry chef, Graham Sutherland, founded The Pastry Academy after lecturing at the Cesar Ritz School of Pastry & Chocolate Arts for 6 years.

Back home in Banchory, Chef offers small, exclusive classes. Workshops include tastings and hands-on learning, focusing on some of Scotland’s most traditional and well-loved pastries from across the North East. Chef demonstrates how to make Scottish Shortbread, Clootie Dumplings, and Aberdeen’s unique take on the croissant – the Rowie or Butterie. Workshops include hands-on participation and plenty of tasting!
