About Lochside Clydesdales
Located less than 20 miles from Aberdeen on the Leys Estate at Crathes, Lochside Clydesdales offers your clients the chance to get up close with this world-famous Scottish breed.
Beth Noble, the Clydesdale owner, provides tours of the stables, sharing stories about life on a Scottish farm and insights into the Clydesdales’ historical role in agriculture and the First World War. Guests can see the horses at work and learn about the care and preparation involved with these gentle giants. Coach parking is available.

A Carriage Drive with the Gentle Giants
- Duration: 2 hours
- Group Size: 6–12
- Description: Enjoy a carriage ride around Lochton of Leys Farm, meet the Clydesdales, learn about their daily welfare, and take plenty of photos. Refreshments and souvenir shopping available.
Small Group Bookings
- Duration: 1.5–2 hours
- Group Size: 1–5
- Description: Ideal for intimate tours, with a minimum rate applied.
Ultimate Fairytale Driving Experience
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Description: Meet and groom Clydesdales Samson and Mae, enjoy a carriage ride through Crathes Castle grounds, take photos at the castle and farm, and enjoy a picnic in front of the castle.
Care for a Clydesdale
- Duration: 2 hours
- Description: Groom, lead, and walk the horses, prepare feeds, treat them to carrots, enjoy cuddle time, selfies, wash and condition them, decorate with tinsel and stencils, and optional plaiting masterclass or afternoon tea with the Clydesdales.
Adopt a Clydesdale
- Description: Choose from Molly, Mae, or Samson. Includes four photo/news updates per year, a Clydesdale teddy, framed adoption certificate, and opportunities to walk and groom the horse. Adoption can be renewed annually.
Clydesdale Demonstration
- Duration: 2 hours
- Group Size: 6–35
- Description: Watch Beth deliver a driving demonstration and talk, learn about preparing Clydesdales for driving and showing, meet the horses for selfies, and learn about their historical significance.
