For more than 400 years, Cluny Castle has been a private family home. Today, it offers exclusive-use stays in the Aberdeenshire countryside, giving groups the opportunity to make a remarkable Scottish castle entirely their own. Accommodation & Guest Experience

Grand reception rooms, historic interiors and centuries of character provide an impressive yet welcoming setting for group stays. Guests can gather around the fire after a day exploring, enjoy drinks in the Drawing Room, dine together in historic surroundings or settle into castle life at their own pace. Each stay can be tailored with private dining, whisky tastings, Highland games, falconry, fishing and country pursuits, alongside time to explore the estate’s ancient woodland, parkland and pond.

Location & Touring

Just 20 minutes from Aberdeen International Airport, Cluny feels secluded while remaining highly accessible. It provides a distinctive private base for itineraries across north-east Scotland, including Royal Deeside, the Cairngorms, the Aberdeenshire coast, historic castles, whisky distilleries and renowned golf courses. Guests can spend the day exploring the region before returning to the privacy and comfort of their own castle.

Additional Uses

Beyond private stays, Cluny is available for weddings, events, filming and photography. The castle doubled as Balmoral Castle in The Queen (2006), starring Helen Mirren.

Useful Information

• On-site parking is available for guests.
• Helicopter landings can be accommodated on the front lawns.
• Disabled access to the ground floor of the castle including the Chapel and the Tenants Hall. A disabled friendly bedroom is available on the ground floor of the West Wing.
• Catering is not included however this can be arranged through our trusted private chefs and catering partners.
• We have a minimum stay of 3 nights.
