Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course, Oldmeldrum, AB51 0AE
Meldrum House is a 13th century baronial country house set in 240 acres of stunning Aberdeenshire countryside. In March 2019 it was awarded VisitScotland’s top accolade - a Scottish Thistle for 'Most Hospitable Hotel', identifying the desire to give guests the most hospitable experience whilst staying at the hotel.
A multi-million pound development was completed in June 2016 and a new wing was added as well as a ballroom which can take up to 200 people.
For a weekend break, Scottish wedding reception, conference or luxury golf vacation, you can enjoy great Scottish hospitality, fine dining and the tranquillity of the magnificent Meldrum Estate.
If golf is your passion, Meldrum Estate offers a range of golf packages and breaks. The course designed by Graeme Webster, is ranked in the top 100 courses by Golf World. Sculpted to perfection in Scotland’s breath-taking scenery it is one of the most beautiful parkland golf courses in the country. The mature woodland backdrop, meticulous landscaping and abundant wildlife make it a golf experience like no others. Manicured greens, cross-cut fairways, water features, dog-legs and bunkers gives players a fantastic golf course with a wide choice of tee positions. Pineapple was launched in July 2019 in the 2 Red Rosette Dining Room. For those not familiar with the name, historically it symbolises welcome, friendship and great hospitality – which sums up Meldrum House nicely. In Pineapple you will find a relaxed, informal dining experience. There is no dress code and it’s open for dinner 7 days a week from 6pm. Guests are guaranteed a culinary journey of local produce created under the tutelage of the hotel’s Executive Chef, Paul Grant. To see a menu, simply log onto www.meldrumhouse.com/pineapple.
The Cave Bar at Meldrum House is part of the original manor house’s rich history, dating back to 1236. Originally, this part of the building was a larder and storeroom. The new casual eating experience was launched in January 2019, to see a menu, simply go to www.meldrumhouse.com/1236cavebar. It is open daily from 9am to 9pm. Serving brunch, lunch and dinner in the award-winning Cave Bar, it is informal and social plate dining, inspired by ingredients that are local to the hotel.
Afternoon teas are legendary at Meldrum House with everything homemade. With a selection of canapes, sandwiches and pastries in front of the fire in the Drawing Room or outside on the new terrace at the Cave Bar. To see a sample menu simply go to www.meldrumhouse.com/dining.
