About Arduthie House

Arduthie House is a magnificent 5-bedroom Victorian house in the heart of the beautiful coastal town of Stonehaven with its wonderful attractions such as Dunnottar Castle, the War Memorial, the Tolbooth, the Harbour and seafront promenade with places to eat and play, and a scenic and challenging golf course to the north of the town.

Set back from the road (Ann Street) Arduthie House offers large and comfortable rooms for the discerning traveller. Arduthie House have 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms, and a family room (sleeping 2 adults and 2 children) all with en-suite facilities. On the first floor there is a wonderful guest lounge where guests can relax and read or chat to fellow travellers or play guitar (2 available) or play games (supplied) and generally unwind.

Each day begins in the spacious and bright dining room where guests can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast of juices and cereals, tea, coffee, and toast plus a ‘Full Scottish’ (bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, beans - not for the faint hearted), or Continental (a selection of hams, cheeses, and fruits with a choice of warm breads), or Eggs 'Arduthie' (ham and spinach topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce and served on toasted Brioche).

Arduthie House is perfectly located close to the town square where guests can walk to the sea in 2-3 minutes and either turn right for the harbour or turn left for the recreation ground and the open air swimming pool, both of which are an 8-10 minute walk from the house. From the house the more adventurous guests can make their way up the Black Hill via the Harbour to the War Memorial and then continue along the cliffs to Dunnottar Castle - a walk of about 40 minutes. Stonehaven also offers easy access to Aberdeen (Duthie Park Winter Gardens, Art Gallery, Museums, and plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities), and to Royal Deeside, with its castles and distilleries, and further on to the Cairngorms.
