About Mill of Benholm

Located less than 30 miles south of Aberdeen, The Mill of Benholm is a historic, water-powered mill set within peaceful ancient woodland. Offering guided tours, lunch, afternoon tea with freshly made patisserie, it provides an engaging and atmospheric stop for cultural, heritage and scenic itineraries travelling north or south.

This Mill can be found along the old coast road from Dunnottar Castle and close to the village of Benholm, a conservation area rich in heritage, and the quaint fishing village of Johnshaven. Your clients can step back in time when they enter the Mill, learn about its rich history and the community who are lovingly restoring the area. Uncover a fascinating story of Scotland's agricultural heritage at a mill that was once owned by Mary Queen of Scots.

Local handmade gifts and art can be purchased in the cafe. Ideal for small groups and FIT, the café can cater to dietary requirements. Parking for cars and small coaches, with a short walk to the site (approx 150 meters). Toilet facilities onsite.
