Lochnagar Views Joint Open

In July 2026, Torphins and Lumphanan Golf Clubs launched their first Lochnagar Views Joint Open, with over 50 competitors playing 9 holes at Torphins followed by 9 holes at Lumphanan – two challenging and picturesque Deeside courses. The event was promoted as an accessible, friendly and enjoyable competition, and it certainly lived up to those ideals. Both clubs also provided excellent food and refreshments, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

The event took place on the Saturday at the end of Royal Deeside Golf Week (RDGW), with a number of players staying on to take part in the Joint Open, including golfers from England and the Netherlands. We also welcomed competitors from across Scotland and the local area. The overall winner travelled from a club in North Yorkshire.

The success of the inaugural event has encouraged us to make the Lochnagar Views Joint Open an annual fixture, with the next event taking place on 31 July 2027. We would love to welcome golfers from across Scotland, the UK and overseas to make this part of their visit to Royal Deeside. With excellent golf, beautiful scenery, local hospitality and the many attractions of Deeside on the doorstep, it offers a wonderful reason to stay, play and explore the area.
