About Glen Garioch Distillery

One of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland, Glen Garioch has been making its malt whisky in the quaint and historic market town of Oldmeldrum since 1797. Visitors will discover how Glen Garioch is returning to more traditional production processes with a focus on reducing the distillery’s carbon footprint, including the recently re-introduced floor maltings and direct-fired heating to the wash still — traditional methods still used by only a handful of whisky distilleries.

The distillery is situated only 30 minutes from Aberdeen city centre and 20 minutes from Aberdeen International Airport, and is easily accessed by public transport links.

A range of tours and experiences is offered for small groups and FITs, with bespoke experiences and larger groups of up to 36 accommodated on request.

Group Founder's Tour	Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes Availability: Year-round, daily at 10:15am and 2pm. Group Size: 13-36 min/max. Groups will be split into smaller groups of 12 with staggered start times. Experience Includes: Guided tour of Glen Garioch Distillery Tasting of two whiskies from Glen Garioch's core range
Warehouse Tasting Tour	Duration: 2 hours Availability: Year-round, Friday & Sunday at 1pm Group Size: 2-6 min/max. Experience Includes: Guided tour of Glen Garioch Distillery Tutored tasting of four whiskies, including two drawn directly from the cask in Warehouse 4
A Rare Pair	Duration: 1 hour Availability: Year-round, daily at 12pm Group Size: 2–6 min/max Experience Includes: Guided tastings of the Glen Garioch portfolio, paired with matching Scottish cheeses and chutneys Optional: Add a guided distillery tour at 11:00am
Distiller's Masterclass	Duration: 45 minutes Availability: Year-round, Tuesday & Wednesday Group Size: 2–6 min/max Experience Includes: Tutored tasting of three rare and exclusive expressions from the Glen Garioch portfolio
Legends of the Garioch	Duration: 4 hours Availability: Year-round, on request Group Size: 2–6 min/max Experience Includes: Tour of the local area following in the footsteps of the founders of Glen Garioch Distillery Tastings of local delicacies Tastings of Glen Garioch’s oldest and rarest whiskies Behind-the-scenes tour of the distillery Whisky-paired lunch in the 800-year-old Cave Bar at Meldrum House Please note: This experience usually starts around 10:15am and concludes with lunch.
