About Arduthie House
Arduthie House is a magnificent 5-bedroom Victorian house in the heart of the beautiful coastal town of Stonehaven, with wonderful attractions such as Dunnottar Castle, the War Memorial, the Tolbooth, the Harbour and seafront promenade with places to eat and play, and a scenic and challenging golf course to the north of the town.
Set back from the road (Ann Street), Arduthie House offers large and comfortable rooms for the discerning traveller. The house has 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms, and a family room (sleeping 2 adults and 2 children), all with en-suite facilities. On the first floor there is a guest lounge where guests can relax, read, chat to fellow travellers, play guitar (2 available), or enjoy supplied games.
Each day begins in the spacious and bright dining room, where guests can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast of juices and cereals, tea, coffee, and toast, plus a “Full Scottish” (bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, beans), or Continental (a selection of hams, cheeses, and fruits with a choice of warm breads), or Eggs ‘Arduthie’ (ham and spinach topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce, served on toasted brioche).
Arduthie House is perfectly located close to the town square, where guests can walk to the sea in 2–3 minutes and either turn right for the harbour or left for the recreation ground and open-air swimming pool, both an 8–10 minute walk from the house. More adventurous guests can make their way up the Black Hill via the Harbour to the War Memorial, and continue along the cliffs to Dunnottar Castle—a walk of about 40 minutes. Stonehaven also offers easy access to Aberdeen (Duthie Park Winter Gardens, Art Gallery, Museums, and plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities), Royal Deeside with its castles and distilleries, and further on to the Cairngorms.
